About the Event
In alignment with our mission, Empower My Hood, Inc. is dedicated to delivering resources to youth in our community that promote resilience and advancement through higher education. Growing up in underserved communities, we understand the struggles in seeking to find a successful education and career. It is important that we acknowledge these difficulties and we continue to provide education to students and have a successful career in the future.
The pursuit of education through the promotion of fairs is an important facet at the core of Empower My Hood’s mission.
Our goals are to:
- Exceed national rates of college matriculation for minority students and increase the year-to-year retention and graduation rates.
- Empower students to make informed decisions about their college education, career goals and opportunities.
Our intention for this event is to have students explore various colleges and get a sense of what colleges interest them as well as obtain knowledge on different aspects of colleges including financial aid, scholarship, student loans, and special programs offered. We welcome all middle and high school students as well as parents to participate. This will be the first of many forums held by Empower My Hood Inc. in the 2022-2023 school year; we look forward to you joining us.
